Small weddings in Dublin City

Small weddings seemed problematic a year ago but in 2021 if you are planning on getting married then the reality is that maybe a small wedding is your best option.

At least (hopefully) we will have some clarity on either 25 or 50 people being allowed at weddings for the summer and maybe more towards the end of the year.

Karen and Chris eventually had their big day on the third attempt. Unfortunately for Chris, his family could not travel over from the UK because of the Covid restrictions on travel.
Their third attempt also included moving the date forward a 4th time to avoid an upcoming lockdown from 25 to 6 people.

They got married in City Hall in Dublin and then went on to Marco Pierre Whites in Donnybrook where they have a lovely outdoor reception area which was perfect for the drinks reception.

Dublin City weddings

As long as we are living with Covid-19 I think we will see more of the smaller weddings in Dublin City

With easy access to more intimate venues like restaurants and Gastropubs, there are vastly different options to the typical larger wedding we were used to seeing pre covid.

I also feel that couples who have gotten engaged during the last year, whilst living with Covid, have a more open mind to planning smaller weddings in the city.
